A Crazy Little Thing Called Love (Review)

"P’Chone ka, I have something to tell you, I like you very much, been loving for 3 years. I’ve done everything, changed myself in every aspects because of you. Nam applied for a classical dancer club, played a stage drama, be a drum major, be better at studying, it’s for you.  But I know for now that the thing I should do the most and should have done since a long time ago is telling you straightly that I love you."- Nam (Crazy Little Thing Called Love)

Ever remembered staring at your crush in school and not being able to tell him how you feel? Do you remember those days when you would call his phone just to hear his voice and hung up a minute later without even saying a word? Ever remember those crazy attempts of catching his attention? Yep, those were the cheesy moments back in high school where half of our lives probably revolved around a single guy.

A Crazy Little Thing Called Love is a sweet movie that perfectly depicted what it was like to fall in love at a very young age. I finally got to see this movie last night and man it was funny! The movie revolves around Nam, an ugly awkward looking girl who has a crazy fascination for Chone, the most handsome boy in school. In the hopes of getting Chone’s attention, Nam transforms herself from an ugly duckling into a white swan! Her pursuit however fails when Chone’s best friend pursue’s her and asks her to be his girlfriend instead. This unrequited love goes on and on for 3 years until Nam finally confesses her love for Chone. Chone on the other hand proceeds by breaking her heart and telling her that he already loves someone else. I won’t spill out the other details of the story, but I assure you, this movie will make you cry and laugh at the same time.

I really love this movie. I was however disappointed at the ending. I won’t tell you why simply because it would be a spoiler but yes, I hated the ending. Why can’t movie producers produce movies with sad endings? I mean, I get it, this is everybody’s love story, but rarely do you find this handsome boy admiring the ugly duckling for say 9 years. That’s just crazy! That’s no longer everyone’s love story! Ugh! I feel bad.

Anyhow the movie is still fascinating. You should go watch out for it!
